FAMILY HISTORY

The Beuzeville, Roussel, and Gobelin–Guillemard families trace their origins to the French Huguenot tradition, shaped by faith, scholarship, craftsmanship, and the experience of religious persecution. Their stories form part of a wider Protestant inheritance that began in France and continued in England across successive generations. The Hewlett line, while not Huguenot in origin, stands alongside these families within Esther Hewlett Copley’s broader family history and reflects the English context into which this shared heritage was ultimately woven.
